No matter which part of the globe girls and women may be, it is to be noted they hold genuinely unlimited potential. The same is true in the great country of Kenya as well. Though the opportunities are many, the barriers that constrain Kenyan women are also many.
Many Kenyan women are still constrained in many ways.
If you are based in the country, you will know issues like gender-based violence remain dominant. Even though it has been decades since independence, women in the country are underrepresented in decision-making processes at all levels. It is also seen that many of the women and girls in Kenya, much like in other countries, are stillspending long hours collecting water and firewood. What is also noted in such cases is that household chores limit school attendance and work options. What is also slightly discouraging is that they have little access to and practically no control over the benefits of land tenure, education, and employment opportunities. Their increased contributions are needed to help Kenya reach their development goals.
We at Kazuri Image realized the need to tap the potential
We at Kazuri Image realize women’s great potential and the need to empower them. Not only are we the producers of the best handmade bracelets with beads and handcrafted jewelry we strive to empower Kenyan women too.
The Company was founded way back in the year 1975. At the time, there was only a tiny workshop experimenting with making handmade beads jewellery. Thankfully the business multiplied, and that too within a very short time.
Back then, in 1975, we had just two single mothers to whom we wanted to provide employment opportunities and empower them through it. But we realize there were many other needy women in the village too. They, too, were in great need of regular employment opportunities too.
We, at Kazuri Image, worked tirelessly towards it. Along with other business objectives, one of our main objectives was empowering women.
Thankfully our objective has brought in great results.
We continue to achieve our social goals.
By 2000, Kazuri Image had a strong workforce, with as many as 70 women, whom we supported with our employment opportunities. However, what is even more encouraging is that there has been substantial growth. It has been so much so that currently, there is a robust workforce of more than 340 women.
From the social point of view, this is all the more relevant in the fact that many of these are single mothers in vital need of a regular livelihood.
We have merely stopped there. We continued to apply our knowledge of ceramics further. This artistic flair has made our jewelry so attractive in the design and production of our unique range of ceramic pottery. It is this that reflects the culture and wildlife of Kenya.
Each piece, like our beads jewellery hand-painted, is vibrant colors.
Due to theCovid pandemic, Labour force of 340 single mothers had to be reduced. Now thankfully since things are slowly getting back to normal. Our aim is to bring these mothers back to ourproduction process.
We are currently targeting to add more single mothers to our labor force and make it 500 single mothers.
It is because of this reason that we are introducing Kazuri to India.
Kazuri Image is a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) member. Therefore, we strictly adhere to the quality standards.
We do need your support and hence looking for Distributors and Wholesalers.
We urge you to please take a step forward and accept our Invitation to work together.”
